We all have those embarrassing moments when we are out with our children. They sometimes say things that make us blush, do things that make us want to run and hide and then times when we look at them with daggers in our eyes. This happens in my family, A LOT! Here is an example of one of those moments from about a year ago.
We have a McDonald’s down the road from us that we visit more than we probably should. There is usually the same young man that works in the drive thru. As I was paying him one day, I dropped some pennies right outside my door. Now, it is not easy to open your door and grab what you dropped but the young man said “No worries I got it” and literally jumped over the window to reach down and grab the money. Wow!
A few days had gone by and I told my youngest daughter, who was 5 at the time, that we would stop by McDonald’s to get her some lunch before she went to preschool. First, let me tell you that my daughter was getting speech therapy at the time for being unable to correctly pronounce her words. The same young man was at the drive thru again and she recognized him. It was warm outside so I had both our windows down in the car. As I was handing him the money, my daughter shouts out “Hey Mom look! It’s the man who jumped out the window the other day when you dropped your pannies!” I turned 50 shades of red and so did the young man. Let’s just say I waited a few weeks before I returned.
